Punjab XI edged out CRPF Delhi by 4-0 North Eastern Railways and Rail Coach Factory draw 1-1 Jalandhar October 25, 2017 Punjab XI started their campaign by beating CRPF Delhi by 4-0 in the women section of 34th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament here at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium. In another match of women section North Eastern Railways Illahabad draw with Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala with 1-1. In men Section league fixture Indian Navy beat last year’s runners up Indian Army by 1-0. In Women Section in Pool A Punjab XI grounded CRPF Delhi by 4-0. Both teams started game on defensive note. In the 32nd minute of the play Punjab Girls mounted pressure on CRPF, their Pooja netted the ball from the pass of Nicki (1-0). In the 35th minute of the play Punjab’s Nicki sounded the board from the left flank (2-0). At half time Punjab was leading by 2-0. After break Punjab girls controlled the game and gave no chance to CRPF girls. In 54th minute Punjab’s Sarita sounded the board to consolidate (3-0). In the 56th minute Punjab’s Rajwinder Kaur scored the field goal from top of the striking circle to complete the tally (4-0). In second match of women section in Pool B North Eastern Railways stopped Rail Coach Factory Kapurtahla on 1-1 draw. The first half of the match was goal less. In the second half’s 46th minute North Eastern Railways Anu bala sounded the board from right flank (1-0). In the 62nd minute of the play RCF girls able to equalize, their Lalremruati scored field goal (1-1). With this draw both teams split one point each. After two matches RCF have four points with one win and one draw.. In men Section in Pool C Indian Army faced tough fight from Indian Navy. First half of the match was goalless. In the second half Indian Navy’s Mohit Thakur scored the solitary goal of the match in the 60th minute of the play (1-0). After that Indian Army wasted two golden chance to equalize.
