34th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament Western Railways Mumbai retain title by beating Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala by 2-1 Jalandhar October 29, 2017 Holders Western Railways Mumbai retain title for the second sonsective time by beating Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala by 2-1 of 34th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament’s women section at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here this evening. The Winner team bagged Rs One lakh, sponsored by Hardeep Singh Kular (UK) and Runners up bagged Rs 75000, which was sponsored by Innocent Heart Group. CRPF team got Fair Play trophy from the organizers. Chief Guest Anita Punj IG Director Punjab Police Academy Phillaur and MLA Pargat Singh General Secretary Hockey Punjab gave away the prizes to the teams. In women’s finals Holders Western Railways Mumbai and Rail Coach Factory kapurthala girls displayed good hockey. In the 16th minute of the play Western Railways’s Sarita B scored the field goal after dodging two defenders (1-0). In the 18th minute Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala girls earned first penalty corner, their Lalruatfeli scored from it to equalize (1-1).At half time both teams were locked at 1-1. In the second half’s 40th minute of the play Western Railways’s Preeti Dubay scored the field goal to complete the tally (2-1).
