2nd Semi Finals : Punjab Police entered the finals for the 10th times after beating Indian Oil Mumbai by 5-3.



34th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament-2017 Punjab Police and ONGC Delhi in finals Jalandhar October 30, 2017 Punjab Police Jalandhar and ONGC Delhi will clash swords in the finals of the 34th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament on Tuesday (31 October) at 6-00 PM. Punjab Police entered the finals for the 10th times. Whereas ONGC in finals for the first time. Punjab Police will be seen in action in finals after 2004. Today in first semi finals at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium Jalandhar ONGC Delhi beat Punjab & Sind Bank Delhi by 2-0 and in second semi finals Punjab Police Jalandhar beat Indian Oil Mumbai by 5-3. In the first semi finals ONGC Delhi and Punjab & Sind Bank Delhi played good hockey. In the 14th minute of the play ONGC earned the first penalty corner, their Nilam Xess converted it to get lead (1-0). After that Punjab & Sind Bank wasted three penalty corners in first half. At half time ONGC was leading by 1-0. In the second half of the game ONGC dominated. In the 55th minute of the play ONGC”s Suman Kujur netted the ball from the calculated pass of Jarmanpreet Singh from right flank (2-0). In the second semi finals Punjab Police dominated from the word go. In the 5th minute Punjab Police got the lead when Olympian Gurvinder Singh Chandi scored from a pass of Olympian Akashdeep Singh (1-0). In the 8th minute Punjab Police consolidated, their Jasjit Singh Kular converted the first penalty corner (2-0). At half time Punjab Police was leading by 2-0. In send half of the match was action packed. Punjab Police’s Akashdeep Singh scored field goal in 41st Minute (3-0). In the 43rd minute Indian Oil’s Captian Olympian Deepak Thakur and in 47th minute Affan Yousuf scored the field goals to reduce the margin (2-3). In 55th minute Punjab Police’s Olympian Ramandeep Singh scored the field goal from the pass of Olympian Akashdeep Singh (4-2). In 62nd minute Indian Oil able to reduce the margin when Raghunath convert the penalty corner (3-4). In 64th minute Punjab Police’s Jasjit Singh Kullar convert the penalty corner (5-3). Today’s match chief guest Fetahjung Singh Bajwa MLA and Lakhwinder Singh Laddi MLA, Kuldeep Singh ADGP PAP Jalandhar introduced with the players. Chief Guest Fetehjung Singh Bajwa announced grant of Rs 2 Lakh to the Surjit Hockey Society.
